Adopt A Village Program
This program provides a centrally built community center that is used as a means of providing social, medical, educational and spiritual help to extremely needy people in tribal villages of Southern India.
Currently, we are focusing on a tribal region in Gudalor of Southern India. This community center will be able to help three surrounding tribal villages including the tribal region of Athipali.
|
The community center is multi-functional and used in the following ways:
Once a day feeding program Chapel services, small groups and prayer support Community literacy and education Monthly medical clinic Caring for alone children during the day Teaching life skills, personal hygiene, cleanliness, nutrition and importance of school education Providing informal education and vocational training Providing school supplies, personal hygiene items (such as toothbrushes) and other important items Providing bathrooms Community outreach Parenting and family support Recreational activities
Our hope is to help the people better develop their own communities in a healthy way by bringing awareness through education and mentoring and by helping to meet their basic physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Adopt A Village can be sponsored by an individual, a family, or a group of individuals. We are in the beginning stages of this project and still need financial sponsors to build the community center! Monthly sponsorships are also critical as this pays for ongoing resources and support (as listed above) for the entire tribal area.
